For her works on paper, Charlene Liu combines watercolor painting, collage, pen and ink, mechanical processes, and printmaking techniques to convey a state of suspended transition. An Associate Professor and Printmaking Coordinator at the University of Oregon, Charlene Liu received her BA from Brandeis University in 1997, and her MFA from Columbia University in 2003. Solo exhibitions of her work have been held at Shaheen Modern and Contemporary Art (Cleveland, OH), Taylor De Cordoba (Los Angeles, CA), and Andrea Rosen Gallery (New York, NY). Formerly based in New York, Liu currently lives in Eugene, OR. This exhibition coincides with the 44th Annual Southern Graphics Council International Conference held for the first time in Portland, OR in 2016.
