Ed Bereal

Ed Bereal in The Whitney Exhibition, "Sixties Surreal"

Elizabeth Leach Gallery artist Ed Bereal is included in the group exhibition Sixties Surreal at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Sixties Surreal brings together work by more than 100 artists who, during the 1960s and early 1970s, responded to America’s escalating social and political tensions with art reflecting a world that increasingly felt more and more surreal. Bereal’s Focke-Wulf FW 190, featured in the exhibition, exemplifies his early assemblage sculptures—works that confront and critique the political climate of the time.

Focke-Wulf FW 190, along with more works from Bereal's 1960s era and beyond, is included in the slideshow to the right. Sixties Surreal is on view through January 19, 2026.
