The Whatcom Museum exhibits works from Lonnie Holley and Louisiana Bendolph

On view at The Whatcom Museum through June 28, 2026 is Personal to Political Celebrating the African American Artists of Paulson Fontaine Press. This nationally traveling exhibition features works by 17 African American artists who are reshaping the contemporary art world.

 

Unique to this showing is the inclusion of works from our gallery: a Gee’s Bend quilt by Louisiana Bendolph and several large-scale paintings by mixed-media artist Lonnie Holley.
